Roho Safi: Afya ni Afya Nzima – Mwili na Kichwa
By Anonymous –
A few months ago, I found myself in Kinshasa, the sprawling riverside capital of the Democratic Republic of Congo. I was briskly walking along Avenue 30 June, the main artery of the capital frantically in search of a pharmacy to fill a prescription that had been emailed to me by one of my doctors in Nairobi. After a few unsuccessful stops, I found myself in a pharmacy that had the medication. The first assistant I spoke to looked at me incredulously as though I had lost my mind. She asked me if I knew what the medication I was about to buy was for. I answered in the affirmative, following which she promptly pointed to her head and dispatched me to her Lebanese supervisor. My prescription was filled eventually, and I walked out into the street.
